ABOUT US

Dr Joyce Egbe

Joyce Egbe MD. is both a mother and a pediatrician. Her family which includes her two young children are her pride and joy and she enjoys spending time with them. Her children are the primary source of her inspiration to provide the best care, both physically and emotionally for her patients and their families.

Dr. Egbe received her medical education at the University of Benin, College of Medicine, Nigeria in 1991. Following that, she worked as a family practitioner for about 3 years. Then, she went on to complete an internship and then residency in Ophthalmology in Nigeria. She relocated to the United States in the year 2000, and then completed a residency at the Driscoll Children’s Hospital, Texas A & M Health Sciences Center in 2007. Prior to her residency, Dr Egbe experienced a tragedy, for the first time in her professional career; she became a recipient of medical care rather than a provider. Her daughter (who later passed away) required long term hospitalization at Texas Children’s hospital for a heart condition that she was born with. This experience has put Dr. Egbe in a unique position where she truly understands parents’ concerns.

Dr. Egbe is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. S he is also a member of a number of medical associations including Texas Medical Association, Texas Pediatric Society and Fort bend-Matagorda Medical Society.

Dr Egbe’s dedication to and belief in the concept of providing a” medical home” to children led her to start Kids Haven Pediatrics. Prior to this, Dr Egbe worked at South Texas Medical Clinics with a group of 5 pediatricians. She also provided nursery and emergency call coverage at Gulf Coast Medical Center where she gained experience caring for newborns. She has also worked as a physician at Texas Children’s Pediatric Associates, and pediatric urgent care centers.
